How to Cite a Journal Article in Harvard Style
Journal articles are a cornerstone of academic research. A correct and detailed reference in Harvard style contains all the elements a reader needs to locate the exact article you used. This guide covers various scenarios, including articles with different numbers of authors, online articles without a DOI, and articles in press.
- Author: Surname followed by initial(s).
- Year of Publication: In parentheses.
- Article Title: In sentence case, enclosed in single quotation marks.
- Journal Title: In italics, in headline case.
- Volume and Issue: Volume number followed by issue number in parentheses.
- Page Range: Preceded by 'pp.' for the full page range.
- DOI: Include if available, prefixed with 'doi:'.
